Nighttime fell over Ikebukuro, the sun dipping low in sky above. Inside Russia Sushi, the Orihara family sat and ordered their meals. The pair of twins, one with glasses and one without, sat opposite to their older brother in a booth. Mairu bounced in her seat and looked over the menu excitedly.
"It was nice of you to take us out for sushi, Izaya-nii! But I thought Izaya-nii was busy today," she tilted her head to the side, glasses glinting in the lamps light. It was more of a statement than a question. "Right, Kururi?" Her spitting image sans glasses nodded silently, still staring at the menu blankly. Mairu hummed to herself and stretched out her arms and legs, lightly kicking her brother in the knee as she did so.
Kururi, on the other hand, barely looked up from the menu in her hands, side-glancing her twin. She was glad to be able to have dinner with her family, even if there was a chance Izaya might push the bill on them. He had done it before, after all, when Shizuo dragged him out as he yelled curses about catching Izaya in Ikebukuro once again. It was amusing to see her older brother get in trouble, not so much when the bill came by and the twins had to pay it by themselves.
Hopefully that won't happen again. Hopefully.

From across the table of the booth, Izaya sat staring out the window, watching the busy streets of the city. To him, it was always so amusing watching all of people go about their daily lives. Many familiar faces had passed by the view the info broker had from the large window within the few moments the three had been sitting there. Izaya glanced over to his sisters as soon as Mairu began to speak. "Busy? Ah, I just finished everything up earlier than expected today, that's all." Little did they know he had just pushed most of it off on Namie just so he could make at least one trip to Ikebukuro, and he wasn't about to tell them.
He watched as the twins looked over the menus they were given, he didn't bother picking up the one that sat infront of him as he already knew his order. Instead, he went back to observing the people outside, simply glancing over yet again and raising an eyebrow the moment he felt a foot hit his knee. Unbeknownst to anyone, the last time the three of them sat together like this he had no intention of pushing the bill onto his sisters. Unfortunately, Izaya had no choice seeing how a certain brute just so happened to find him there.
'It will be interesting to see how it plays out this time~'

"Then Izaya-nii must have been very productive today," Mairu said idly, more to herself than anyone else. She blatantly ignored Izaya's expression and proceeded to kick him in the knee once again, this time not on accident. Who could blame her for messing with her brother, especially since he basically abandoned them the last time they had a meal like this to hang out with his boyfriend. "Hmm, I don't know what to get. What're you getting, Kururi?" The younger twin leaned over her older twin's shoulder, peaking at her menu curiously.
"...this." Kururi pointed at the marked food. And then she pointed at another. "Maybe that."
The younger grinned. "Then I'll get that one, you can have the that one." Kururi agreed with a soft noise, putting down the menu finally. She side-glanced Izaya's menu, but didn't say anything as usual. Mairu gave Izaya's knee one final, hard kick before calling over someone to take their orders. Good thing she wore boots today.
"Hello! I'd like number 5 and she'd like a number 8! And I don't know what Izaya-nii wants," Mairu said rather loudly once someone came over. She proceeded to press herself into her twin, leaving the rest of the talking to her brother. Right now she wanted to absorb her older twin's warmth and wait for their food to arrive. The older twin accepted the cuddle, wrapping an arm around her.

Izaya narrowed his eyes at his sister who just purposely kicked him, not flinching in the slightest. Other than a change in his facial expression, he let it slide. They were his younger sisters, and as annoying as they could be, he didn't completely hate them, just... most of the time. However, he had no choice but to interact with the two, they are blood related, after all.
He ignored the second, much harder kick as a person was called over. "The usual number seven." He waited for it to resume to the three of them before going back to studying the people outside once again. Izaya wouldn't call it work, however it was in a way. He could gather quite a bit of information on someone just by their actions alone. The facial expression, the body language. All of it was a key factor on figuring out what exactly the person was doing, the area the goal location was in, and their general thought process. He nearly forgot he was even sitting there with his two little sisters.

The twins remained wrapped up in each others arms long after their order had been written down, with Mairu momentarily snickering at her brother's lack of reaction from her last kick and Kururi staring blankly at Izaya's face, lips twitching into a faint smile. She then diverted her eyes to look past him, mouth set in a straight line. Suffice to say, they were highly amused.
"When is our food gonna get here, I'm hungry!" The younger pouted, regretfully disentangling herself from her twin's body heat after a few minutes of silence. Mairu then face-planted into the table, causing a small 'bang' to resound. "So hungry..." Kururi immediately mimicked her sister's pose but with less dramatic flair, tilting her head so she could see both her twin and her older brother.
"Izaya-nii, do something!" Both twins whined, Mairu's voice muffled due to the table and Kururi's voice a soft whisper. "We're gonna die of starvation before our meal even gets here...!"
Around the corner, a person held a platter with their orders on it.

"Nothing you do will make it come any faster, you know." He was beginning to get annoyed with them, more-so the older over the younger. "Besides, it hasn't been that long since the order was taken." Izaya wondered how they'd react to his statements, so he decided to keep the fact that he could see the reflection of the waiter in the window next to the main doors to himself.
'Oh just wait until they see how close the food actually is~'
"I highly doubt you'll starve before they get here anyway." Izaya bluntly stated without so much as looking away from the busy city. He was focused on one group in particular. They were standing around in the middle of the plaza and it looked as though a fight may break out at any given moment.
He simply wished to see how it would go.

"Izaya-nii's so mean," Mairu lifted her head and stuck out her tongue, leaning on the table using her elbows. She nudged Kururi, who stayed laying down, and pouted. "I bet that Izaya-nii wouldn't mourn for us if we died, right, Kururi?" The older nodded stiffly, shifting her gaze to her brother and then back to her twin. He didn't seem to be listening to them, just staring out the window...
"And I bet Izaya-nii isn't even paying attention to us, too. He's just staring at nothing, as usual," the younger said, leaning backwards trying to spot the waiter with their food. She sat back down, kicking up her legs to rest them on the opposite seat, onto Izaya's lap. "I want foood..."
The waiter cleared his throat and placed their correct sushi in front of them. Mairu cheered, still resting her boots on Izaya, and Kururi sat up straight, picking up her chopsticks. "Thank you! Now go away," Mairu dismissed the waiter and sat up as well, licking her lips.
"The sushi's here, the sushi's here," she sang, her older twin humming along with her. "Hooray, hooray~! We almost died~"

He inwardly sighed at the two as he chose to ignore the supposed insult. "Hmm? Oh, I'm still listening to you rant on about everything." He wasn't ignoring them, just made it seem as though that was the case. 'Unfortunately..'
Izaya turned his attention to the food that was placed in front of them, showing no signs of stopping Mairu from pushing the waiter away like she did. He may have been forced to basically raise the two of them on his own when they were little, but that doesn't mean he has to do anything about what either of them do now, despite being the oldest sibling. "This would've been out here in the same amount of time whether or not you wanted it sooner~"
And with that, he popped some of the fatty tuna into his mouth.

"Open wide, Kururi, this is really good~!" Mairu rolled her eyes at Izaya's last comment, picking up a sushi from her plate. Kururi opened her mouth and let her twin put it in, chewing on the tasty treat. The younger grinned, "I knew you'd like it. Now lemme try this one!" She picked up one of Kururi's sushi and popped it into her mouth.
"Mhm, delicious!" she commented loudly, voice rising. The older lightly touched her arm, motioning for her to be quieter. "...Whoopsie! Sorry, Kururi. Not sorry, Izaya-nii." She snickered, taking another bite of sushi. Kururi then looked up at Izaya, pointing her chopsticks at one of his fatty tuna. "...?"
The younger, coughed, swallowed her bite and translated for her. "Kururi wants your to try your sushi, Izaya-nii." The former nodded slowly, pointing again at it. It just looked really good, and it smelled delicious to boot...
"Izaya-nii, she's even drooling!"

Quietly sitting there, Izaya watched them as they enjoyed their sushi and began to question the reason behind the way they turned out. He really just blamed most of it on their parents. They were hardly around and practically abandoned the three siblings. It was more of a shock that he wasn't just an only child at that point.
Once again he raised an eyebrow at the two of them until Mairu spoke up. "Yes, I can see that." Izaya paused for a moment, thinking about whether or not he would allow one of his little sisters to taste some of his food, let alone his favorite. "Alright, go ahead." His voice didn't carry that normal playful tone as he normally had, mostly due to two factors. Annoyance and they were just his sisters.
"However, don't expect it to happen again."

Kururi paused as she leaned over, reaching for the fatty tuna using her chopsticks. She considered Izaya's words, nodded, and brought it over to her plate. "One time only," she promised, taking a bite from it with a small smile gracing her lips. The younger twin hummed happily, enjoying her own sushi but eyed her brother for a moment. Mairu could never really remember her parents too well, it has always been Izaya taking care of the both of them. It's always been Izaya, Kururi, and herself in the Orihara family since Kururi and her were young. She recalled a moment in time where she- they, both Kururi and Mairu together- asked why their parents weren't there...
Shrugging to herself, Mairu finished off the sushi and turned to her older twin. "So, was it good? How nice off Izaya-nii to share with Kururi~!" Kururi nodded shyly, looking down at her semi-eaten plate of sushi. The younger picked up one of them, holding it up to her now blank face. "Now say 'Ah'. It might not compare to Izaya-nii's, though, but still!" Kururi obeyed, biting off a piece and swallowing it. The taste didn't quite compare to the fatty tuna, but she was never one to complain. Besides, she did promise.
"I wish Izaya-nii would share with me, too," Mairu pouted, batting her eyelashes at her brother through her glasses. She knew that she was pushing her luck, but it was worth a try. "Too bad he said he won't ever do it again." The older side-glanced her twin. Kururi had promised, not Mairu after all.

"..." Izaya noticed the look Mairu was giving him but decided to keep it silent for just a moment more. "...It's surprising you didn't take one yourself. It wasn't only directed to Kururi, you know." Most people would think he was just being nice, and a lot of it was considering who they are, but he would quickly deny it at any time. It has always been like that since day one of their parents being overseas all the way up to now. Izaya made it seem as though he doesn't care, when in reality, as much as he didn't want to admit it, he truly does.
He quietly finished off all of the fatty tuna except for one piece, waiting for the other to grab it.

"Izaya-nii is being generous today, isn't he!" the younger grinned, snatching up the sole remaining fatty tuna up and popped it into her mouth. Mairu licked her lips but didn't say anything after consuming it, tapping her chin in thought. Without warning she suddenly stood up, reached over the table, and wrapped her arms around her brother. Squeezing tightly. Within a few seconds she returned to her seat like nothing happened.
The older flipped her phone shut and dropped it back into her hoodie pocket. Kururi watched as her twin stretch out languidly. "Ah~ That was good. Right, Kururi?" Mairu grinned cheerfully, arms behind her head as she leaned back. The older twin nodded and mimicked her posture, barely moving when Mairu draped an arm over her shoulder.
The twin with glasses contently patted her stomach. "Izaya-nii isn't going to drop bill on us like last time, right? That was mean of him, by the way~"

Izaya sat still as he was hugged, making no move to reciprocate the gesture, and simply waited for her to return to her spot. "Just don't get used to it." He simply stated as he leaned back into the booth seat. He reached into his pocket, pulled out the phone he was carrying today, and checked the messages it held. Most of them were from Namie who was going back and forth between asking where certain files went and complaining about all of Izaya's work being shoved onto her shoulders. The rest of the messages were regarding a various amount of topics, usually about current, new, and even returning clients, and others about some of the current events happening within Ikebukuro and Shinjuku.
Izaya placed the phone back into its comfortable position inside his pocket and looked back up at his sisters. "I didn't intentionally push it onto you two. That brute just found me in here at the wrong time," He put a distasteful emphasis on the word 'brute' as to get a point across to them and anyone else who may be listening in on their little conversation.
"As long as that doesn't happen a second time, then I will be paying for it."

"Izaya-nii better promise then, promise that you'll pay this time," Mairu pouted once again, leaning on the table using her elbows. The older moved her arms back down as well and pulled out her own phone, flipping it open. "Hm, what's that one saying about needles... Do you remember, Kuru-nee?" Said twin nodded, leaning over to whisper it in her ear. She turned back to her phone and let Mairu pull her into a hug, shaking her back and forth. "Ah, Kuru-nee's so smart! Smart, smart, smart-"
Kururi put her phone safely on the table, pulling out a small can of pepper spray from her hoodie pocket, flashing it near the younger's face with her hand on the trigger. She reacted immediately, flailing about and returning to her own seat as she appeased her sister. "I'll calm down, Kuru-nee, don't worry!" Kururi, satisfied, put the pepper spray back away, picking up her phone to resume internet browsing. Mairu breathed out a dramatic sigh of relief, not wanting to be sprayed twice in the same day.
She turned her attention back to her brother, holding out her pinky towards him. "So, Izaya-nii, do you promise to cross your heart, hope to die, and stick a needle in your eye if you break your promise to us~? You have to repeat it, too, don't forget."
